ANTHONY CHABOT (Marciel Road Parking): Take a short walk to the top of the hill to watch the sun set as the full moon rises. Bring a snack and blanket to sit on. Meet at the day use parking area off of Marciel Road. No registration; drop-in. For information, call (510) 544-3187.

Bring blanket to sit on and snack.
Day Use Parking Directions: From I-580 westbound in Castro Valley, take the Redwood Road exit and turn right on Redwood Road. (From I-580 eastbound, take the Redwood Road exit and turn left at Redwood Road.) After about two miles on Redwood you will pass Redwood Canyon Golf Course, then Lake Chabot's Proctor Staging Area, both on the left. Another few miles will bring you to Marciel Gate at Marciel Road. Turn left here and follow Marciel Road about 1.5 miles to the small day use parking area on the left. If you reach the Chabot Family Campground you have gone too far.
