Spring Pickleball Carnival of Events 18+

Join us for our first ever Pickleball Carnival of Events. This carnival is meant for players 18+ to come out and experience a sampling of DPR pickleball programs. If you’ve wondered how a ladder, series, or tournament play works, this is for you! This 4-week series will take place from 7:45-9:15pm Tuesdays 5/6, 5/13, 5/20, and 5/27 at Bethesda Park.

Week 1 will be a meet & greet event where you get to meet each other and play with a variety of people to develop relationships and have fun while playing the game.

Week 2 will be an Up and Down the River event. Up and Down the River is a fun variation of open play. Players are initially assigned a court randomly and then play a series of 8 minute games with 2 minute breaks in between. After each game, the winning team moves up a court, the losing team moves down a court, and partners split for the next game.

The third week players will be paired with partners in a ladder-style event. You will be assigned to a foursome and a court to begin play. You will play one game to 15 paired with each of the others in your foursome for a total of three games.

The last week will be played tournament-style. You will be randomly partnered with a player and play either a round-robin or double elimination style tournament depending on the composition of the attendees.

All participants must be at least 18 years of age and must have recreational pickleball experience prior to registering. The focus is on fun, improving your game, and meeting and competing with others. Registration closes on 4/29/2025 and space is limited to 24 participants. Rain date will be held on June 3rd, 2025
