Description

Did you know that one of the largest owls can be found in Virginia? The Great-Horned Owl and many others call Virginia their home.

Join Miss Melissa, Virginia State Park Ranger, for an evening filled with hoots and hollers learning about the different kinds of owls living in your area.

You will gain an understanding of how owls fit into the ecosystems and will discover basic identification skills to apply in your own yards.

This program will include a walk around the park with the potential of seeing some of the local species. However owl sightings are not guaranteed.

This is a FREE program but Pre-registration is required.

Ages 8-15 must be accompanied by an Adult. Both Child & Adult must register.

Please note that there are a limited number of spaces, if you register and your schedule changes, please be courteous and let us know you won't be coming so that someone else will have the opportunity to attend.

Activity is held outside around dusk / dark. Please dress for the weather (layers are a wonderful thing) and wear sturdy closed toe shoes. We will be walking over uneven terrain. Bring a flashlight or head lamp, and bug spray is recommended.
