The Carol Stream Parks Foundation is fundraising to purchase a new 39-passenger bus with ADA lift and wheelchair access for the Park District. This $250K investment, planned for 2026, will ensure reliable and affordable transportation for our adult trips, camp programs, and occasional transport to and from community events. By securing a new bus, we can reduce fees, maintain affordability for our community, and avoid raising the cost of programs that use the bus. Donations are still being accepted for the Veterans Memorial Plaza, located at Town Center in Carol Stream. Carol Stream?s Veterans Memorial Plaza includes several awe-inspiring amenities to honor members of the military who serve our community and country. The site includes beautiful landscaping, modern lighting, veneered limestone capped seat wall, flag poles and granite markers representing the five military branches; Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard. The plaza also features a POW marker and a memorial stone to honor military from our community who made the ultimate sacrifice. Commemorative bricks are available for purchase, as we want to continue to recognize those serving our country, past, present and future. Contributions for this project are always welcome and needed to maintain the plaza and landscaping.
