Description
Friday, April 26th
This training course is Mental Health First Aid for Adults. This class is for adults 18 and older working with adults. Last day to register is 4/22/24.Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the initial help offered to a person developing a mental health challenge or experiencing a mental health crisis. Aiders provide initial support and connect the person in crisis to professional care or remain with the person until the crisis resolves. This training is designed to teach professionals and other caring citizens a 5-step process to provide that initial support. As a participant, you will become more in tune with others' well-being and your own! Participants who complete the online pre-work (2 hours) and post-work (1 hour), in addition to the in-person training, will be certified for 3 years.
Logistics:
2 hours of online pre-work (self-assessment, videos, and quiz) on your own before the training.
5.5 hours of face-to-face, instructor-led training
30-60 minutes of evaluation and exam on your own after the training
Schedule
9 am to 3:30 pm with a lunch break
We highly recommend bringing your lunch as the lunch break will only be 30 minutes.
