Description

This summer NEIU will be hosting its second annual band camp. NEIU faculty, staff, students and alumni will be working together to provide a week-long day camp with a spectacular experience. The camp will be for woodwind, brass, and percussion players that are rising high-school freshman through rising seniors. Students of all abilities will have an opportunity to develop their skills through the different classes offered. Spend a week with us this summer for an unforgettable musical adventure!

Final Concert at 5:00 p.m. on Friday night.

Class Schedules

In addition to playing with the wind ensemble, campers will have the opportunity to take music classes that will enhance both their instrumental technique and overall musicianship. A class schedule will be created for campers based on their placement audition after check-in.

Electives

Campers may choose from a list of electives: Jazz Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, Woodwind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Conducting, and Yoga for musicians.

Performances

Campers have the opportunity to attend and perform in evening recitals and take a city excursion to watch a professional ensemble. There will be a final wind ensemble concert in the NEIU Auditorium on the last day of camp.

Musicianship Class

In addition to playing with the wind ensemble, campers will have the opportunity to take music classes that will enhance both their instrumental technique and overall musicianship.

Private Lessons

Private lessons will be available for an additional fee. You may request a lesson at check in.
