Description

PRESCHOOL (4-5 years): Students in this class will learn basic water adjustment skills with an emphasis on play to prepare them for comfort in the water for Level 1 and 2. It is designed to teach swimmer independence without the involvement of parents, initial play in the wading pool and progression to the main pool when students are ready.

Completion Requirements: Enter the water independently, using either the ladder, steps or side, travel at least 5 yards, submerge to mouth and blow bubbles for at least 3 seconds then safely exit the water. While in shallow water, glide on front at least 2 body lengths, roll to a back float for 3 seconds and recover to a vertical position. This can be done with support.

Disclaimer: Children learn swimming skills in different ways and at different speeds. Simple enrollment in a swimming level is not a guarantee that all skills will be mastered in one session of lessons. Most children will repeat levels at various times during the learn to swim process.
