Description

PRESCHOOL (4-5 years)

Students in this class will learn basic water adjustment skills with an emphasis on play to prepare them for comfort in the water for Level 1 & 2. It is designed to teach swimmer independence without the involvement of parents, initial play in the wading pool and progression to the main pool when students are ready.

Completion Requirements: Enter the water independently, using either the ladder, steps or slide, travel at least 5 yards, submerge to mouth and blow bubbles for at least 3 seconds then safely exit the water. While in shallow water, glide on front at least 2 body lengths, roll to a back float for 3 seconds and recover to a vertical position. (This can be done with support)

Disclaimer: Children learn swimming skills in different ways and at different speeds. Simple enrollment in a swimming level is not a guarantee that all skills will be mastered in one session of lessons. Most children will repeat levels at various times during the learn to swim process.
