Biography:Ellen Costanza is a ballet instructor who brings over 30 years of professional experience to St. Louis. Prior to joining COCA's faculty, she served as Ballet Mistress from 2000 to 2007 for the St. Louis Ballet. Previously, Costanza performed as a soloist with the Eglevsky Ballet in New York, and Ballet International in London England and throughout South Africa before joining the Cleveland San Jose Ballet in 1978. As a principal dancer, her most notable credits include performances in Dennis Nahat?s Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and Romeo and Juliet. In 1990 after retiring from the stage, Costanza became artistic coordinator for the Cleveland San Jose Ballet, where she taught all levels in the professional division and at various schools throughout the U.S. and Europe. Costanza received her classical training as a scholarship student at the American Ballet Theatre School in New York City.
