Description:
Learn traditional Polynesian dances of Hawai'i and Tahiti dance culture discipline. This course will introduce students to the dances, discipline and culture. Your child will feel the aloha spirit in their pa'u skirts while dancing to the gentle sounds of the ukulele.
Classes take place at the Walnut Gymnasium. Mask and Physical Distancing required at all times.
Pa'u skirts and t-shirts may be purchased (not required) through the instructor for a separate fee of $50.
Biography:
We invite you to share in the songs, dances and culture of Hawaii, at Da Hula Studio in Diamond Bar. Run by husband and wife, Kawika and Leinani Viloria, who have been teaching hula in Diamond Bar for 26 years. Classes in traditional ancient and modern hula are available to all ages, keiki (child) to kupuna (elder), kane (male) and wahine (female). All levels from beginner to experienced dancers are welcome. You will be taught the basic hula steps that make up the foundation of hula, and progress to learning choreography of the mele (songs) that tell the story.
