Description

Calling all educators, in any capacity! Learn the basic skills and techniques, participants will make a wide array of unique cultural items that can be used in their classrooms. The main focus will be on teaching the primary skills of making and using both stone and bone tools. twisting plant and fiber into string and making and managing friction fire. Learning the uses and qualities of the natural stone, bone, and plant materials will be gained in the making of the specific cultural arts projects including the making and application of earth paints and pigments.

Class will be from 9:00am-4:00pm with an hour lunch break. Instruction will take place at Maidu Activity Center 1960 Johnson Ranch Drive.
