You're invited to a star-studded evening! The Columbia Memorial Space Center is proud to host the NSTA 2017 Informal Science Social on Thursday, March 30th from 6:30-9:30pm. Enjoy star-gazing, refreshments and networking opportunities where real stars get the headlines - just a few miles south of Hollywood.
Evening highlights include:
- A star party hosted by Celestron with cosmic viewing through a number of new telescopes
- Live music by renowned house band "The Amoeba People"
- Beers by local science-themed brewery Bottle Logic
- A program that includes special guests from The Planetary Society
- Activities by monthly STEM kit provider Outer Places
Plus, the Space Center will be open for you to enjoy, including our LEGO Robot Lab, LA's only public robotics lab!
Transportation: The Columbia Memorial Space Center is located 15 miles south of the LA Convention Center. Bus transportation will be provided to and from the Convention Center and the conference hotel. One bus will leave the Convention Center's Pico Blvd entrance at 5:30pm and one at 6:00pm to transport attendees to the Space Center. Buses will leave the Space Center at 8:30pm and 9:30pm to return to downtown Los Angeles. Alternate transportation - cars, ride-share, etc. - is also welcomed. The Space Center is located at 12400 Columbia Way, Downey, CA 90242.
