Cancellations may occur up to one week before an activity has started. If a participant cancels a registration, $7.50 per class, per registrant will be charged for processing (unless otherwise noted), with the balance of the fee being refunded. No refunds will be issued one week prior or after an activity has started. Full refunds will be given when the Department cancels classes or makes schedule changes.

Description: 

A "Blended Learning" Lifeguard Training Class will be offered at the Ashwaubenon Community Pool (2391 S. Ridge Rd.) on the following dates:

  • Monday, December 28th (5:00 pm - 9:00 pm)
  • Tuesday, December 29th (8:00 am - 6:00 pm)
  • Wednesday, December 30th (8:00 am - 6:00 pm)

This course enables the participant to work at an indoor/outdoor pool or lake setting and also certifies the participant in First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. This is a "Blended Learning" course where students will complete online modules for in class work, then complete water course work in person. Minimum age is 15 to be a lifeguard and 14 1/2 to take the course. Full attendance of all three days is mandatory to complete this course.

The following requirements must be completed in satisfactory manner to continue in the course. The prerequisites will be completed on Monday, December 28th. Failure to complete these skills will result in failing the course. The cost of this course is FREE! The lifeguard textbook will be provided.   • Swim 300 yards
  • Tread water for 2 minutes only using legs
  • Timed brick test; swim from shallow end to deep end; retrieve a 10 lb. brick in 7-10 feet of water; return brick to shallow end. Candidates must complete this exercise in 1 minute

The registration deadline is Monday, December 21st.

NOTE: There is a plan to host a March/April course.
