Description:
This class is for diving students who have already completed a series of introductory diving lessons. Divers will learn back, inward, reverse, and twisting/flipping dives on a one-meter diving board. Class prerequisite: Must be able to perform a hurdle, tuck and pike dive.
*A $12 USA Diving Fee must be paid BEFORE the first day of class to participate. Complete your membership application by clicking here and select "Limited Athlete Membership" then select "club" Chandler Aquatics Diving, Coach of Record: Herpin Rachel." Please submit a copy of your completed membership BEFORE the first day of class directly to the instructor Rachel Herpin at rachelherpindiving@gmail.com. This limited membership is valid for one year September 1 - August 31 and only needs to be purchased once per year.
Biography:
Rachel Herpin began diving in middle school and she continued through graduation from Albion College in Michigan. She graduated from Albion in 2003 with a degree in Elementary Education. The highlight of her diving career was competing in the Division III National Championships at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
She coached for 5 years at Lakeview Middle School and High School (Battle Creek, Michigan) and taught 6th grade Language Arts and Social Studies. In 2008 the Lakeview High School boys swim and dive team were state champions and Rachel earned the honor of Division II Diving Coach of the Year. Rachel and her husband moved to Arizona in 2010, they have two daughters who are 8 and 5. In her free time Rachel enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, and reading.
