*This class meets the prerequisite to become a CERA pottery studio member.*

All skill levels welcomed.

Description: This is an introduction to throwing on the wheel and includes how to wedge, center, shape, trim, attach a handle, how to use an extruder, finish, reclaim clay, prepare your work to be bisque fired and glaze your work. You will also be shown other general processes and procedures to working in the pottery studio. The class projects include a mug and a bowl.

Bring to class: A 25 lb bag of cone 6 clay, a needle tool, small sponge, trimming tools, wire cutter, wood modeling tool, wood rib, flexible rubber rib and 2 gallon plastic bucket with lid to reclaim clay. You will need an apron or towel. A basic pottery tool kit ($12), plastic 2 gallon bucket with lid ($5) and a 25 lb bag of clay ($15) may be purchased from the instructor at the first class or bring your own.
