Instructor: Nerrissa McKee
A perfect class for beginners, no experience is necessary!
Did you know that beautiful and functional ceramics can be made simply without using the pottery wheel? Discover what you can create with a few simple hand building techniques using slabs, coils and molds. Make a different project while learning a new technique each week.
Projects include: A box with a lid, a mug with a handle, a bowl, and how to mix dark and light clay together to get a swirled pattern.
Bring to class: A 25 lb bag of cone 6 clay, a needle tool, wire cutter, flexible rubber rib, small paint brush, metal or plastic fork, kidney scraper, and 2 gallon plastic bucket with lid. You will need an apron or towel. A basic pottery tool kit ($10) and/or a 25 lb bag of clay ($15) may be purchased from the instructor at the first class or bring your own.
