Description
Today’s technological advancements in the design of portable battery powered tools and systems engineered specifically for the firefighting industry have come a long way in the last twenty years. Much of today’s fire apparatus and firefighting equipment utilize purpose-built batteries and battery management systems to provide portable working power for tools and equipment. This class covers an in-depth overview of the types of materials found in batteries, the various uses of batteries, and the different battery systems. This course is designed for the fleet maintenance technicians who may encounter the necessity to perform service and maintenance on battery powered equipment. Content will focus on reviewing recognizing maintenance and testing procedures and proper emergency safety protocols when working with modern batteries and battery systems.
