FM-103 ELECTRICAL CHARGING SYSTEMS

This course will review common problems associated with a trucks electrical charging system since they are often misdiagnosed when it comes to alternators. This course will teach students the basic theory, operation, construction, and repair of heavy-duty charging system components and will provide the basic knowledge required to perform safe, consistent, and efficient troubleshooting for 12 volt charging systems. The student will gain an understanding of a trucks charging system along with the associated testing and servicing of heavy truck charging systems. Course content includes discussion on voltage and amperage testing of alternators including alternator overhaul procedures.
