Description:
Learn yoga postures, mindful movement, breathing practices, meditation and relaxation – all with the aid of a chair. This unique yoga style is designed to reduce stiffness, increase mobility and range of motion, build strength, improve balance, calm the nervous system, and enhance the mind-body connection. Class will begin seated in the chair then progress to standing poses with the support of the chair, before moving down to the floor for seated and lying down poses. Options will be given to students who prefer to stay seated in the chair. Chair yoga is especially suitable for older adults, people with balance or coordination issues, and those recovering from illness or injury. All skill levels are welcome. Yoga mat and water recommended. Classes will be held virtually on Zoom. Meeting ID and password will be included in your receipt after registration.
