Interventions for Improving Vascular Aging
Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) impact the heart, arteries and veins and are the leading cause of death in the United States. Aging is the primary risk factor for the development of CVD, largely due to reduced function of arteries. This online program will describe studies currently ongoing in the CU Boulder Integrative Physiology of Aging Laboratory focused on improving age-related artery function.
Presenters: Zach Clayton, PhD is a 3rd year postdoctoral research fellow with over 10 years experience performing research focused on reducing and managing CVD risk.
Abigail Casso, MS is a PhD candidate studying the influence of lifestyle factors such as diet and exercise for improving artery function in middle-aged and older adults.
