Students will learn the rudiments of guitar including names of strings, proper use of pick, parts of guitar, metronome work, exercises and rhythmic strumming songs.
Jesse Meman graduated from St. Mary's College in 1981 with a Music Performance degree. After graduation, Meman worked in several schools in Prince George's County, MD, both as faculty and a substitute teacher where he taught saxophone, clarinet, and flute and assisted the band directors. On several occasions he directed the school's stage and jazz bands. During this time, he also began teaching lessons for Music & Arts. In 2000, Jesse was an adjunct professor at Montgomery College, where he directed the jazz band. Jesse continued to teach privately, as well as joining the faculty at The North Potomac School of Music and the Alexander School of Music. Over the last 15 years, he has worked extensively with three area Music & Arts locations and continues his private instruction. Meman joins the BlackRock faculty this year teaching all levels of guitar.
