2023 Summer Playgrounds - Hoover Park

Look no further for summer fun! Our neighborhood Playgrounds program is the perfect solution for afternoon fun all summer long! Six locations are staffed to provide your child with a variety of supervised activities including athletics, games, special visitors, arts and crafts, field trips, and MUCH more!

This program is for children ages 5-12 (must have completed kindergarten). Any child that has not completed Kindergarten will be removed with no refund. If your child does not have the behavioral or developmental skills, regardless of their age, to participate in this program, they may be removed from the program. They must attend the park that is closest to your home. Parents must register their own children.

This program will be cancelled if there is inclement weather. NOTIFICATION OF CANCELLATION WILL BE MADE THROUGH THE WEATHER HOTLINE. PARENTS/GUARDIANS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CALLING THE WEATHER HOTLINE TO BE NOTIFIED OF WEATHER CANCELLATIONS. The hotline will be updated by 11:30am if program is going to be cancelled. PLEASE keep an eye on the weather as it may be sunny all morning but inclement weather is expected later in the afternoon during program, forcing us to cancel. Weather Hotline: 563.344.4467

ALL FIELD TRIPS MUST BE CHOSEN AND PAID FOR AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION. No further action will be required by parents throughout the summer. If you do not sign up for a field trip during registration, your child will not be allowed to attend that field trip later. In addition, field trip fees will not be refunded or credited for ANY reason if your child is unable to attend. Please review your registration carefully before completion. THERE IS NO PROGRAMMING AT THE PARK SITES ON FIELD TRIP DAYS. IF YOUR CHILD IS NOT REGISTERED FOR THAT WEEK’S FIELD TRIP, THEY WILL NEED TO STAY HOME THAT DAY.

Each park will attend their field trips on the following days unless otherwise noted below:

Kiwanis & Hoover attend their trips on Tuesdays.

Edgewood & Hopewell attend their trips on Wednesdays.

McManus & Riverdale Heights attend their trips on Thursdays.

*All sites attend on Friday. Child must bring pennies for games and activities.
