Description
Printmaking: Basic Screen Printing - Serigraphy / All Levels
Instructor: JenClare Gawaran
Screen printing (also known as silk screening or serigraphy) is a form of printmaking in which inks are pushed through a screen mesh. In this class, students will learn the basic principles of screen printing, using hand-drawn stencils to create a multi-color fine art print edition on paper. Instruction will include proper screen printing techniques, utilizing water-based inks, screen filler, drawing fluid, as well as print registration of multiple colors. A print exchange is a possibility at the conclusion of the course, in which each student receives a print from fellow students in the class.
