Ceramics: Advanced TechniquesInstructor: Sue O'ConnorThis class is for those students who would like to explore more advanced techniques.We will cover projects in hand-building and wheel throwing using templates, altering and reassembling. Projects may include functional and sculptural objects with an emphasis on design. Porcelain will also be introduced.Prerequisite: Proficiency in throwing and hand-building is required1104.43.01.22 Levels 3 & 4Tuesdays, April 5 – June 149:00 am – 12:00 pm, 11 sessions$305 Members, $345 Guests $65 Materials/Studio FeeCeramics Studio PoliciesCeramics students are required to follow all department policies regarding safety and health standards including:• Masks are strongly recommended when in BBAC facility, and in some circumstances, required.• Following sign up procedures and attendance guidelines for Open Studio timesCeramics Open Studio Information - No InstructionOpen Studio time is available for students currently registered for a ceramics class of 12 hours or more. Dates and times are available for sign up through ceramic technician, Laura Ryan, during the first week of classes. All students will have to rotate open studio time since there is an 10-student maximum per class. Open studios are not intended to take the place of a production studio and are intended to further the education experience.Only work made at BBAC using clay from BBAC, can be glazed and fired at BBAC.Purchasing Clay at the BBACOne 25 lb. bag of clay is included with your class. BBAC offers the service of purchasing additional clay (one bag at a time) and can be purchased at the beginning of your class time.• Limit is three, 25 lb. bags per term• Each 25 lb. bag of Wheat Stone is $17• Each 25 lb. bag of Porcelain is $20
