Drawing Basics: Grades 3 – 5
Instructor: Anne Ritchie


In this virtual class, students will learn to draw with confidence and express their ideas visually.The weekly sessions will introduce a variety of drawing techniques to build an understanding of line, shape, form, and value. Subject matter will vary, and include common objects, people, animals, and landscape. Students will be provided with a series of prompts to continue drawing through the week and develop creative problem solving skills.

After you complete your registration for this virtual class, you will receive an email one week before the first day that will include directions and a link for your secure Zoom class session.

Required materials list:
• spiral bound sketchbook (9’’x 12’’ or 11’’x 14’’)
• graphite pencils (HB, 2B, 4B, 6B)
• pencil sharpener
• white, plastic/vinyl eraser
• Ultra-fine Sharpie marker
• Blending sticks ( tortillon or stump)
