VIRTUAL
Drawing Fundamentals: Grades 8 -12
Instructor: Lynn Spanke
Students will learn the core drawing skills necessary to express their ideas and observations visually. Emphasis will be on developing perceptual skills and understanding the structure of drawing: line, shape, composition, perspective, light and shadow. Working from life and printed references, drawing projects will include still life, portrait and landscape.

Materials needed for first day of class
• Large Sketchbook- 11 x 14 larger.
• Pencils: 4H, 2H, HB, 4B, 6B
• 1 Kneaded eraser
• 1 white eraser
• 1 Pencil sharpener
Materials List
Instructor will go through materials listed below on first day of class
• Journal/ Sketchbook – spiral 8×10 or larger
• Large Sketchbook pad- 11 x 14 larger.
• Large Drawing pad 18 x 24
• Ruler or straight edge
• Woodless pencil – 1
• Black charcoal – Regular, Vine and Charcoal Pencils
• White charcoal – Regular
• Conte sticks – 1 box
• Colored pencils – 24 set of colored pencils- pick out extra colors that catch your eye
• Markers – Several colors and sizes your choice. They are inexpensive so grab at will
• Sharpie Markers-1 black ultra-fine Sharpie, fine, and regular sized
• White eraser
• Blending Sump
• Kneaded eraser
• White eraser
• Q-tips
