Description

Federation Forest State Park provides 600 acres of beautiful old growth forest surrounded by clear cuts. Two loops of interpretive trail connect with trail that follows the Naches Trail along the White River. The Naches Trail was used by pioneers traveling from Fort Walla Walla to Fort Steilacoom in the 1850’s. Expect some exposed roots and muddy spots. There is a short hill plus a few stairs to reach the picnic area along the White River. There is the option of an ice cream stop at Wapiti Woolies. Note: This walk has minimal elevation changes but the ground may be slightly uneven and require attention to roots.
