Learn the skills to compose and stitch an heirloom piece of your own by referencing the form and elements of real 18th and 19th century samplers, while incorporating the materials and life experience of the 21st century. Along the way, students will learn the history and evolution of needlework sampler-making traditions and the fascinating and unique ways in which they offer glimpses into the lives and worlds of the girls and women who made them.
