Description: 

This is an open-form guided watercolor studio. Students will learn a variety of water media skills and techniques while working on projects of their own determination. Value ranges, as well as experimentation, will be a part of the coursework. Previous watercolor experience is necessary.

Notes:

Required Class Supplies: A drawing board for support; watercolor pad or 4 individual sheets of 140# Arches watercolor paper (Arches 140# watercolor block is expensive but doesn't require a drawing board). Flat brush, wash brush and a rigger brush or "liner" brush -- synthetic brushes are cheaper than sable (and my personal preference). Individual tubes of watercolors (Windsor Newton paints are best, Cotman are cheaper but can fade, especially "hue" colors. No black or white tubes; Cheap masking tape, kneaded eraser, 4-H pencil, plastic jars (peanut butter jars are great); Flat palette with wells; photos or magazine pictures for your paintings.
