Community: Screen Printing Basics

In this course, students will practice techniques and methods in screen printing and complete the process from beginning to end with the guidance of their instructor. Students will create a design, prepare the screen by adding and exposing emulsion, printing on the printing board, and heat-curing the design. Designs can be printed on paper or fabric. By the end of the course—whether students have printed a t-shirt, poster, flag, or another project of similar scale—all students will leave with completed pieces of screen-printed art and feel confident in their skills as printmakers.
