Description
Learn important aspects of depicting figures such as gesture, anatomy, volume, and light while also practicing various oil painting techniques. Students will reference clothed models to study and successfully capture the human anatomy. The instructor will teach how to properly mix colors as well has how to underpaint and glaze. In a welcoming space alongside creative peers, students will gain new skills and create paintings to add to their portfolio and to take home.
This course is for adults and teens. Students ages 13-17 must be registered to take the course with a parent or guardian and must be accompanied by the parent or guardian at each session. The student and guardian must also sign a Blanket Authorization Form. You can fill out the form by clicking here. This will also be sent in an email a week before the course begins and must be completed before the first session.
Required materials: A set of oil paints, a paintbrush set for oil paints or for assorted paints, mineral spirits, quick-drying medium, a Silicoil Brush Cleaning Tank, a 18 x 24 inch canvas, and a bar of Dove soap. You do not have to purchase the exact products nor from the same sites in the linked examples, but they are examples of good, affordable options.
