Description

This is a class designed for both beginners and those who may have "let the brush go dry," but are ready to paint again. Basic instruction in materials and techniques will be covered, as well as watercolor styles. Students will work from both still-life arrangements and landscape photographs.

Required Class Supplies: Winsor Newton tube paints, (No black or white). Cotman w.c. are cheaper but fade, DaVinci paints (on-line stores) are good value. Flat brush, round tip brush and a small haired brush (rigger or a "liner" brush are good). Synthetic brushes are a good buy and cheaper than sable. I use those as my preference. 4 sheets Watercolor paper -- at least 140 pound cold press. Watercolor blocks are good, but more expensive. Rags, plastic peanut butter jars (or something similar), spray bottle and a w.c. palette. I prefer the flat palette with wells. 4-H pencil and kneaded eraser (#2 pencils are too dark).
