Learn to Play Hockey (Youth)

Prerequisite: Basic 2 Learn to Skate or Snowplow 3 Learn to Skate or Hockey 2 Learn to Skate. Full hockey gear is required. Apex does not provide gear. Apex Learn to Play Hockey provides the perfect bridge between Apex Learn to Skate and ice hockey programs such as the Arvada Hockey Association or the Apex Adult Hockey League. Our approach to practice design is grounded in the latest sports science research and is modeled after USA Hockey's American Development Model. Rather than waiting in line and skating through cones, players can expect to spend lots of time having fun, making decisions, and developing game-transferable skills through activities such as tag, keep-away, and other structured small area games. Practices are from 5-6 pm. This 5-week session runs from October 12 through November 9.
