Description
Prerequisites: There are no skill prerequisites for Learn-to-Swim Level 1. Participants must be 5 years of age or older.
American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills
Level 1 introduces basic aquatic skills, which participants continue to build on as they progress through the Learn-to-Swim program. In addition, participants start developing positive attitudes, effective swimming habits and safe practices in and around the water. Learn-to-Swim Level 1 skills overlap with the skills in Preschool Aquatics.

Notes
Participant initiated: A $5 administration fee will be charged against all participant-initiated refunds. Fees paid by credit cards will be refunded back to the credit card. Refund processing may take up to three weeks.
Refunds: Refunds will only be granted when a participant: A. Submits a refund request at least 5 business days prior to the class start date. B. Becomes ill, in which a doctor’s statement must be presented upon request.
Transfers: Transfers will only be granted when a participant: A. Submits a transfer request (via email or verbally) at least 5 business days prior to the class start date. B. Becomes ill, in which a doctor’s statement must be presented upon request. If a refund / transfer is not requested to be applied to the program within 90 days, the refund/transfer will be forfeited.
Class Cancellation: If a class is canceled due to low enrollment, staff issues, etc., a full refund will be given.
Illness: If a participant must miss classes due to an illness, a prorated refund will be issued with provision of a doctors’ note.
Membership Rate: Memberships are required to be active through the duration of the lessons. If a membership is cancelled or ends while the lessons are still ongoing, the full non-member rate will be due to complete the session.
