Description:
Central Virginia Beekeepers Association will present a County sponsored course for new or prospective beekeepers. Will cover "the life and times" of the honeybee, setting up a hive, seasonal management and honey production and much more. One session (exact date TBA, weather dependent) will be held outside with bees, one student's name will be drawn for a colony of bees.
Course fee includes a copy of The Beekeepers Handbook, Fourth Edition, by Dianna Sammataro which must be picked up from the Albemarle County Office Building at 401 McIntire Road, Room 118, the Parks & Recreation Office before the start of the class. Books will be available for pick-up after January 4. There will be a reading assignment to complete before the first class.
