Description

If you have a pre-existing condition(s) or have recently sustained an injury, please consult your physician BEFORE signing up for any exercise or dance classes.

Provoke inspiration through sacred dance in this mixed-level class, from beginner and beyond. You will learn the basic movements, isolations, and layers of belly dancing - and put together all three in an encouraging environment. Wear comfortable clothes for dance-hip scarf or coin belt optional.

  • Week 1 - Intro to Postures, Graceful Hands, Arms, & Hip work.
  • Week 2 - Shimmy Drills, Torso Isolation, & Hip Isolation.
  • Week 3 - Shimmy Combo Drills, Hip Drills, & traveling steps.
  • Week 4 - Figure 8's Intro, Drills, Undulations, & Turns.
  • Week 5 - Figure 8's Continued, Spanish & Gypsy Fusion, Veil Improv, & Class Choreography.
  • Week 6 - Bollywood Fusion, Veil Improv, & Class Choreography.
  • Week 7 - Tribal & African Fusion, Veil Improv, & Class Choreography.
  • Week 8 - Full Prop-Work Introduction, Veil Improv, & Class Choreography.

DIRECTIONS TO PBGCHS PARKING LOT:
  • From PGA BLVD & Military Trail, head south on Military to the 2nd traffic light (Lilac Street) and turn left. The school entrance will be on the right side of Lilac after the last 2 story townhouse --- look for the big, beige sign that says ?Staff Parking, Visitor Parking? etc.
  • From Northlake Boulevard & Military Trail, head north on Military to the 3rd traffic light (Lilac Street) and turn right. The school entrance will be on the right side of Lilac after the last 2 story townhouse --- look for the big, beige sign that says ?Staff Parking, Visitor Parking? etc.
