Description:
Ages 15-Adult. Dazzle your friends at the upcoming office party, wedding reception, or other social gatherings. A few easy dance steps are all you need to get on the dance floor. Louise Tamres introduces you to the basics of Ballroom, Latin, Swing, Tango, Waltz, Night Club, Slow Dancing and Disco. No prior dance experience needed, just the willingness to have fun dancing with a partner (can be a family member, friend or any partner of your choosing). Fee is per individual, partner required. Instructor: Louise Tamres. 10 classes. No class 11/5.

Biography: Louise Tamres started dancing at the age of 5, acquiring a strong foundation in ballet and jazz. After retiring from a local ballet company, she discovered the joy of social dance becoming an avid contra and ballroom dancer. She traveled around the country to learn Swing, Lindy Hop, Blues, Vintage Dance, and Argentine Tango. Louise was an instrumental contributor to the University of Michigan Ballroom Dance Club for its first seven years, serving as a primary instructor, program director, and teacher recruiter. She is co-founder and first coach of the Michigan Ballroom Dance Team. A six-year veteran of ballroom dance competitions, she and her partner won numerous awards in Swing, Latin, and Hustle events. Louise is a DVIDA certified instructor and a dance history scholar specializing in the Ragtime and Jazz Age eras. A popular teacher since 1990, Louise never loses her sense of humor and makes every dance understandable, presenting even fine points of style in a clear accessible way.
