Join Barbara Goodsitt, professional illustrator and member of the Colored Pencil Society of America and create beautiful art from the point of a pencil. In this three day workshop, you explore the medium of colored pencil. Learn how to create realistic textures, values and effective compositions. Your instructor demonstrates several techniques including underpainting, using solvents, burnishing and more. Some drawing experience is helpful. Supplies needed by the student:
Professional grade colored pencils (minimum set of 24) such as Prismacolor Premier, Derwen Coloursoft, Or Faber Castellated Polychromos colored pencils.
Papers: Stonehenge drawing paper or Bristol Vellum (not smooth plate finish). Other acceptable papers include pastel papers. Adhesive putty or kneaded eraser, 2b graphite pencil, tracing paper.
