Description

Grades: 2nd and up with an adult. Round up the kids and let’s make some memories! In this fun class we make and bake Linzer-style heart shaped cut out cookies - filling them with jam and dipping and decorating the small hearts with chocolate. A perfect treat to share with friends and family for Valentine's Day! This is a virtual bake-along class, which means you are baking along with Chef Natalie, and will be able to have questions answered in real time. Please see online notes for ingredients and equipment needed to participate. We suggest waiting until you receive specific measurements before purchasing anything you do not already have. Minor food prep may be required before class begins. Only one registration is needed per screen. Class may end early or run later depending on the class size. Instructor: Natalie Marble, a formally-trained chef and culinary instructor, who has been sharing her love of cooking and baking for more than 15 years. 1 class.

Ingredient List:
  • Unsalted butter
  • Sugar
  • Eggs
  • Pure vanilla extract
  • Almond extract
  • Flour
  • Salt
  • Baking powder
  • Favorite jam for filling (has to be smooth)
  • Powdered sugar
  • Chocolate of your choice
  • Valentine sprinkles of your choice (optional)
Equipment List:
  • Stand mixer or hand mixer
  • Rolling pin
  • Heart-shaped cookie cutters (1 large, 1 small)
  • Sheet pans
  • Parchment paper
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • Cooling rack (optional)
  • Small saucepan
  • Medium heat-proof bowl
  • Offset spatula or butter knife
Please note, this is a virtual/online class that can be accessed from a computer, tablet, or smartphone. To fully participate, you will need access to the Internet during the class time, and a built in camera/microphone on your device or a webcam so that you can communicate with the instructor in real time. Class will *not* be recorded.
