Description

Grades: 9th - Adult. We may not be able to change our circumstances, but we can change our relationship to those circumstances. Mindfulness takes practice, and can be a useful tool for self discovery, personal insight and more harmonious living. Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to what’s happening in the present moment, without judgment or narrative. This class provides a kind and supportive environment for learning and practicing some of the basic techniques of establishing and sustaining mindfulness in everyday life including the practices of meditation, concentration, and body scanning. The class also provides a place to discuss and share as a group. Suitable for beginners or those with experience. Per current AAPS and City of Ann Arbor policies, all participants and staff will need to wear masks while indoors. Instructors: Karen Mori and Kenneth Morley, Still Mountain Buddhist Meditation Center.
