Description: Ages: 13 - Adult. Learn Japanese Taiko Drumming with Great Lakes Taiko Center all from the convenience of your home. Registration includes one month access to live virtual classes offered via Zoom, recordings of the live sessions to view on your own, and access to kaDON ($20 value) to practice drills at your own pace and on your own time (please note, any outdoor, in-person Great Lakes Taiko Center programs are not included in registration). Anyone can join this fun course which introduces new players to the basic form, movement, and rhythms of Japanese taiko drumming. No special equipment needed to start drumming! Live class times for beginners include: Saturdays, 11:00-11:45am, others TBA in January. Instructors will share suggestions for household items that you can use in place of bachi sticks and a taiko drum, and provide options for purchase or rental upon request. Once registered you have access to a full month of classes (2/1-2/28 or 3/1-3/31) and resources. Beginning Scholarship or senior discount recipients pay $25. Registration closes on 3/5.
