Description

Grades 1st-5th. Explore the wonders of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) like never before with Nutty Scientists! Investigate the power of gravity, fight against icky germs, make things fly with static electricity, a crazy tower challenge, Nutty Science facts, and so much more! (Students do not need to have taken a previous session of Wonders of STEAM, this is a stand-alone class). The program includes a Supply Kit with all the supplies necessary to complete the weekly activities, written and video instruction for all activities, and a weekly Zoom meeting. 4 weeks.

Focus of Each Week:

  • Towers - Construction Challenge using only supplies from the kit
  • Center of Gravity - Learn about the power of gravity and then build your own “Gravity Defying Object”
  • Germs – Why is it so important to wash your hands? We’ll learn all about germs in this important week!
  • Static Electricity - Student receive their own battery powered static wand and learn how to make objects float using the power of static

Activity meeting dates

Registration closes February 26th at noon.<br><br> This is an at home, work at your own pace program that takes place between the dates of 3/4-3/25 and includes weekly interactive meetings with Nutty Scientists instructors on Thursdays, 3:45-4:15pm.<br><br> Supply pick-up will be: <br>Thursday, February 25th, 3:30pm-4:30pm at the Rec&Ed parking lot. <br>Or <br>Friday, February 26th, 4:30pm-5:30pm at the Rec&Ed parking lot.
