Description:  Ages 4.5 - 6.5 years. A unique, virtual class that promotes and continues literacy development designed especially for entering Y5 and kindergarten students. Laura Emmer, who has a Master’s in Early Literacy Development, creates an engaging session that helps excite every child's love for literacy and identity as a 'reader”. Each 45-minute class includes instruction along with your child participating in an interactive circle time to review letter recognition and sounds (zoo phonics), rhyming with word families, reading strategies, read-a-loud and story retelling. A special time for exciting journal activities too that promote literacy development as well as opportunities for the children to practice literacy skills with movement! Instructor: Laura Emmer. 9 classes. Scholarship recipients pay $10.

We are using Zoom as our virtual platform and a link will be emailed the day before class begins.
