Please
note: this is an advanced level figure drawing class. Drawing experience
required. Figure drawing is an active process; an engagement with material
that is both physical and intellectual. In this class, students will be
encouraged to work in terms of process rather than making a finished product,
in order to foster curiosity and therefore, insight. Insights will be learned
through visual problem solving, exploring the looking and seeing
relationship, and the expression of touching marker to paper. This class is a
choose your own adventure, as it is completely self-directed. As soon as
class starts, we will dive into meditation as a group through deep
concentrated drawing time. Emphasis will be on gesture poses, working our way
up through short poses of various time lengths, and ending each class with 20
minute poses. In addition, our entire final class day will be spent on a long
pose. (Troubleshooting, corrections, and critiques of student work made upon
request to the instructor during 5 minute breaks between poses.) Price of the
model is included in the cost of the class. The cost includes a $100 model
fee. Please bring paper and drawing materials to class. Materials list
