When we
take time to truly look at the world around us, we often see amazing,
beautiful things that we may not have noticed before. Ecosystems are made up
of living things, non-living things, landscapes, and weather that make up a
system-- creating a bubble of life. In this playful, relaxed series we will
be exploring ecosystems in ways that are both literal and
conceptual--focusing on interesting visual occurrences in nature and noticing
some of the fascinating visual moments that may occur in our typical everyday
lives. We will be using visual information and inspiration from real-world
images to create interesting abstract work with pencil and watercolor paint
while touching on elements and principles of art such as value, shape, line,
and balance. You get to be the orchestrator here. There is no right or wrong
in this class and no experience is necessary! Students are required to bring
materials to class. See materials list at sharonartstudio.org.
