In this beginner drawing class, students will be introduced to various drawing materials (surfaces, supports, pigments & binders) and observational drawing methods (posture, focus, practice, exercise, drills). Using still life and clothed models students will spend class time practicing drawing. Materials and methods will be discussed using examples from art history, with a preference given to artists working in the Bay Area or to relevant pieces currently on view and accessible at Bay Area institutions. The instructor will hold space for drawing practice and may provide feedback, if desired. All skill levels welcome. Cost of the model included in the price of the class.
