Description

Teen Hip Hop is an exciting and high-energy class where dancers will dive deep into the foundations and advanced techniques of hip hop, including locking, popping, funk, and breakdancing. From its urban roots to global recognition, hip hop has evolved into a dynamic and influential dance style that emphasizes individuality, rhythm, and creativity. In this class, teens will not only learn classic moves but also explore current trends in hip hop choreography, building their skills with each session. While no previous dance experience is required, students should be prepared to challenge themselves and grow as dancers. The class will cover everything from foundational grooves to intricate floor work, with an emphasis on musicality, body control, and style. It’s an opportunity to learn from the roots of the genre and stay current with the ever-evolving world of hip hop dance. A positive, energetic, and supportive environment ensures that every dancer will leave class feeling confident, powerful, and ready to hit the floor! A $40 costume rental fee is required to participate in the end of semester performance and is paid to The Dance Connection the first week of class. Rented costumes must be returned after the performance to avoid additional fees.
