Creative Discoveries Art Camp
July 28 - August 1, 2025

"Nature and Science"
Join us for an exciting week of artistic discovery where young artists will explore multiple mediums and techniques in the professional art studios at Mason School of Art.
Students will experiment with diverse media such as painting, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media while developing fundamental art skills and creative confidence. Our experienced teaching artists and art education graduate students will guide children through engaging projects inspired by diverse artists and cultural practices. Each session culminates in a mini art exhibition for families.
Course Objectives
- Explore Art Materials: Experiment with various art forms and media, including painting, printmaking, sculpture, and more, to become familiar with their properties and potential.
- Express Creativity: Encourage imaginative thinking and artistic self-expression through the creation of unique artworks.
- Learn Basic Art Concepts: Introduce foundational art concepts such as color mixing, shapes, lines, and patterns in an age-appropriate and engaging manner.
- Art Appreciation and Presentation: Expose young artists to a variety of art styles, artists, and cultures to broaden their artistic horizons. Students will also exhibit their own works at the end of semester.
- Promote Research and Collaboration: Encourage teamwork and social interaction through group projects, where children can share ideas and work together on creative endeavors.
- Play and Exploration: Above all, enjoy a nurturing and enjoyable environment where young artists can learn through play-based art during their week-long art adventure.
