Description

Honors: Analysis of Baroque-Era Music

This class will focus on Roman-numeral and formal analysis of music from the Baroque era. Students will take an in-depth look at the harmonies and counterpoint techniques used in individual pieces from this period. Analysis will be used to connect students to performance practice ideas.

Classes designated Honors are enrichment options suitable for students who participate in or aspire to participate in Levine's merit programs. Non-merit students are welcome to register for the class.

This class is an appropriate option for students who have completed Music Theory Level 10 or AP Music Theory. Students who have not taken a music theory class at Levine should take an online placement test prior to registering for the class.
