Description

Are you looking for a motivating and enjoyable musical experience? Ukulele is a great way to jump right into the world of making music! This rewarding 8-week class will have you playing tunes from the very first day. By the end of the session, you will be able to perform a variety of great songs.

No previous knowledge or experience is necessary--just bring your ukulele and have fun learning this portable and delightful instrument! After this class, keep learning with your friends in Continuing Ukulele for Teens and Adults or sign up for private lessons.

We’ll learn:
  • Basic chords
  • Strumming patterns
  • Simple melodies
  • The building blocks of music
  • Note reading
Please note: If you register at least two weeks before the start of class, you can ask Levine to provide a ukulele which you can keep at the conclusion of the class. All other participants must provide their own instruments tuned to G-C-E-A.

For more information, please contact Risa Carlson, Guitar Department Chair, at (202) 686-8000 x1104 or rcarlson@levinemusic.org.
